This Privacy Policy describes the types and methods of collection of consumer ("you") personal information collected by Qingdao Tongda Global Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. and its affiliates (collectively, "Tongda"), how such information is used and the scope of use, disclosures of such information, and the measures Tongda takes to protect it. It also explains how to request the following from Tongda:
- Query, change, and delete your personal information stored by Tongda;
- Stop receiving specific SMS messages;
- Handle your complaints about privacy matters in Tongda.
Before you use Tongda logistics products or services, please read and fully understand this Privacy Policy (especially the bold terms). By using Tongda products or services, you are deemed to have read and agreed to this Privacy Policy.
Access to the information collected and how it is collected
- How we obtain information. Tongda may obtain your personal information in the
following activities:
- Use of the Tongda website and application;
- Freight and freight forwarding, including delivery and collection of shipments and the use of value-added services (such as insurance);
- Inquiries or consultations;
- Questionnaires or surveys;
- Promotions and other preferential activities.
- Types of information.
- Information you provide to us. Information filled in and/or submitted when you register for a Tongda account and when you use services provided by Tongda’s platform. This may include: shipment-related information (sender/recipient name, date of birth, ID details, company name, physical address, email address, telephone or fax number), signatures as proof of delivery, information needed to provide on-premise services, information about shipment contents (to the extent it can be linked to a person), contact information of others to whom you ask Tongda to send information, questionnaire responses, payment and financial information (bank account, card details, online payment IDs, billing address), tax ID number (where required), and other personal information you provide to obtain Tongda products or services.
- Information collected during use. When you use Tongda’s platform or visit Tongda’s websites, the system may automatically receive and record your access information, including IP address, login information, and visit date/time. We may also collect information to provide/optimize services, such as social media usernames and content you post on Tongda’s official pages, information obtained via social login tools and plugins (e.g., WeChat, Alipay, QQ), device geolocation for certain app features, geolocation captured during pickup/delivery, and data collected by cookies/web beacons (device/browser characteristics, OS, language, referrers, actions, timestamps). We may link automatically collected data (e.g., browser info) with other data about you (e.g., to know whether you opened an email). Your browser may allow you to receive cookie notifications or restrict/disable certain cookies, but some site/app features may not work without cookies.
The use and scope of information
- Collecting, delivering, and tracking shipments;
- Providing products and services related to core and additional businesses such as logistics and express delivery (e.g., customs clearance);
- Processing and receiving payments;
- Providing customer support and communicating with you regarding requests, questions, and comments;
- Establishing and managing your Tongda account (e.g., official website/app accounts, shipment/booking/vehicle/order management);
- Informing and sending you advertisements and other commercial information via telephone, email, or SMS that Tongda believes may be of interest to you;
- Managing your participation in surveys, sweepstakes, and other offers or promotions;
- Sending information to your contacts at your request;
- Handling complaints regarding Tongda’s services;
- Operating, evaluating, and improving Tongda’s business (including developing new products/services; managing communications; evaluating sales, marketing, and advertising; analyzing and enhancing products/services/sites/apps; and conducting accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, and reconciliation);
- Conducting data analysis (including market and consumer research, trend analysis, financial analysis);
- Preventing and addressing fraud/criminal activities, complaints, and legal liabilities; complying with applicable laws and policies;
- Customizing your access to Tongda’s website/app and providing content (including ads) tailored to your interests;
- Managing Tongda’s business, including supplementing automatically collected data with location-related information (e.g., zip code) to provide content that may interest you;
- Diagnosing technical/service issues, administering sites/apps, identifying users, and gathering demographic information;
- Using clickstream data to determine usage patterns and customize sites/apps to better meet user needs;
- Other uses as specifically informed at the time of collection.
Information disclosure
Tongda will not sell your personal information, but may share it with third parties in the following circumstances:
- To complete collection and delivery, Tongda may share handling information with principals, recipients, third‑party payers, and consignees;
- Tongda may share personal information with its affiliates and contractors for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Tongda may also share geolocation information and other personal information with third parties outside its affiliates/contractors to improve services or for other purposes (e.g., to provide products or services that may interest you);
- Where required to provide Tongda products/services or by law.
Additionally, Tongda may disclose your information if required by law/regulation/legal process; at the request of government authorities; to investigate suspected or actual illegal activities; to protect life, body, or property from imminent danger; to prevent serious harm to others’ rights; to protect Tongda’s legitimate interests; to advance the public interest without prejudice to your interests; or to provide information to industry-related credit platforms. Tongda reserves the right to transfer information about you in connection with a sale or transfer of all or part of its business or assets, including in reorganization, dissolution, or liquidation.
Information transfer
In principle, personal information collected and generated in the People’s Republic of China will be stored in the PRC. If you choose our international shipment service, we may transfer waybill information to or receive access from foreign jurisdictions in the country/region where you use the products/services. Your personal information may also be transferred to such jurisdictions for other purposes stated in this Policy. These jurisdictions may have different or no data protection laws. In such cases, we will ensure adequate and equivalent protection (e.g., encrypted transmission, regular security assessments of recipients, and data processing agreements/clauses).
Unsubscribe
You may receive marketing information related to Tongda’s core and additional businesses. You can unsubscribe according to the prompt in the message (e.g., “Reply TD to unsubscribe”), and Tongda will respect your request.
Query and correction
You can log in with your Tongda account (e.g., official website, major customer shipment, air delivery, centralized booking, vehicle, order management) to query the personal information you provided. You may also contact us to inquire about your personal information held by Tongda. For privacy and security, Tongda will verify your identity before authorizing access. If you believe your information is inaccurate, you can modify it directly in the relevant site/app you registered with or contact us to request correction.
How Tongda protects personal information
Tongda maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information you provide from accidental, illegal, or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or use. Please understand that no security measures are infallible. Note that device-only data and search terms that cannot be linked to a particular individual are not personal information. If we combine such non‑personal information with other information to identify a person, or use it together with personal information, it will be treated as personal information during the period of combined use.
Updates and dispute resolution
Without your express consent, we will not reduce your rights under this Policy. We will post any changes to this Policy on this page and, for material changes, provide more prominent notice (e.g., in‑app pop‑ups). Material changes include but are not limited to significant changes to our service model or purposes/types/uses of personal information; changes in control or organizational structure; changes to the main objects of sharing/transferring/public disclosure; significant changes in your rights and how to exercise them; changes to the department/contact/complaint channel responsible for user information security; or when a user information security impact assessment indicates high risk. The implementation, interpretation, and dispute resolution of this Policy shall be governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; if unresolved, you may complain to authorities or file a lawsuit with a court with jurisdiction in accordance with applicable laws.
Clause independence
If any provision of this Privacy Policy is declared illegal, invalid, or unenforceable, such status will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions, and this Policy may be interpreted after deleting such provisions.
Protection of minors’ personal information
Tongda attaches great importance to the protection of minors’ information. If you are a minor, you need your guardian’s consent to this Privacy Policy before using Tongda products and services.
Exceptions
For your convenience and additional information, Tongda’s sites and applications may contain links to third‑party sites. Information collected directly by those sites is protected by their own privacy policies. Tongda may also provide services through third‑party platforms (e.g., app store providers) or other channels. Tongda is not responsible for privacy protection of information collected through non‑Tongda sites/channels. Information collected directly by third‑party apps, tools, and plugins (e.g., Weibo, QQ, WeChat, Alipay, and other third‑party login services) is protected by those providers’ privacy policies.
